WALKERTON - Clyde L. Stickley, 83, died Tuesday in his
home. Mr. Stickley was born Feb. 13, 1925, in Walkerton, IN, to
James and Nellie (Nelson) Stickley, and had lived in the
area most of his life. On October 20, 1946, in Walkerton, he
married the former Eva LaBere, who survives. Also
surviving are daughters, Geraldine (Rick) Ruby and Nancy
(Tom) Bolze, both of Walkerton; seven grandchildren,
Angela Albright, Kimberly Ross, Steven and Scott
Ruby, Brandon Shilling, Tiffany Shilling and Samantha Personette;
three great-grandchildren, Dakota Shilling, Clayton Ross and
Bryce Personette; sisters, Marie (Max) Hardesty of Hamlet
and Joan Mapes of Bristol; and a brother, James (Kay) Seiders
of North Liberty. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven
sisters and two brothers. Mr. Stickley was a self-employed farmer
and mechanic. He had also been employed by Gardner's Farm
Equipment, Walkerton. He was a member of the Walkerton United
Methodist Church, was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II,
serving with the Seabee and military police, was an original
member of the Dixie Walkers Square Dance Club and a member of
Walkerton American Legion Post #189.
Services will be at 11 a.m. EDT Saturday in
the Walkerton United Methodist Church, with Pastor Charlene Allen
officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. EDT Friday in Rannells Funeral
Home, Koontz Lake Chapel, and one hour before services in the
church. Contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice and
Palliative Care or to the Memorial Fund at the Walkerton United
Methodist Church.
