SOUTH BEND - Evelyn M. St. Germain, 88, of South Bend,
formerly of Jones, MI, passed away at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug.
19, 2008, in the Ironwood Health & Rehabilitation Center,
South Bend. Evelyn was born on November 9, 1919, in Chassell, MI,
to the late Walter and Alexianna (Arshambau) Destrampe.
On September 4, 1937, she married Lester L. St. Germain in
Baraga, MI. Lester passed away on March 25, 1999. She was also
preceded in death by one son, Kenneth St. Germain; two brothers,
Cyril and Jeffrey Destrampe; and four sisters, Sylvia Perrow,
Edna LaPlante, Serephine LaPlante and June Forrest.
Evelyn is survived by four daughters, Nancy Funke of
Jones, MI, Patricia (Olympio) Guidi of Goshen, Shirley Carroll
of St. Petersburg, FL, and Kathleen (Phillip) Barnett of
Osceola; 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and two
great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother,
Walter (Rita) Destrampe Jr. of Westland, MI; and one sister,
Daloris LaMont of Livonia, MI. Evelyn worked as a
dietitian for over 40 years at Holy Cross and Regency Place, from
which she retired.
Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 27, in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 28, in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
