Mr. Harrison Stewart, Jr., dear father, grandfather,
and brother, who resided on East LaSalle Street, South Bend,
Indiana, entered into eternal rest at 11:10 a.m. Monday,
September 13, 1999 at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center at the
age of seventy-six. On January 23, 1923, in Woodville,
Mississippi, he was born to the union of Harrison and Ella
Stewart, Sr. Coming from Woodville, he had lived in South Bend
since 1946. He was employed as a truck driver for United Beverage
Company and retired in 1992 after thirty years of service.
He is survived by a loving family of six
daughters, Kathy Stewart and Glenda (Dennis) Patton, both
of South Bend, Ethel Jackson of Richmond, California,
Joyce Joseph of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Sandra Coleman
of Flint, Michigan and Joan (Johnny) McChriston of
Albuquerque, New Mexico; two sons, Michael Robert Stewart of
South Bend and Bruce Edward Coleman of Utah. Thirteen
grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three sisters, Sara Minor,
Frances Hawkins and Allease Nicks, all of New
Orleans, Louisiana, along with a host of aunts, cousins and
friends. Preceding him in death were a sister, Levine Duncan
and a brother, Daniel Stewart.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.
Friday at Pentecostal Cathedral Church of God in Christ where
friends may call one hour before the service. Interment will
follow in Southlawn Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to
Alford's Mortuary.
