Dorothy Stewart, 73, of Battell St.
in Mishawaka, Ind., died unexpectedly at 4:35 p.m. Sunday.
She was born on July 1, 1923, in Detroit,
Mich., to Alidor and Alice (DeBaets) DeBel, who
preceded her in death. She lived in Mishawaka most of her life.
Dorothy retired in 1990 after 12 years with Burcliff Industries.
She was a member of the Eagles Aerie 2083 in Mishawaka, where she
served as a vice-president, and was a member of the Veterans of
Foreign Wars Post 360 Auxiliary.
Dorothy is survived by a daughter, Diane Brown
of Spartansburg, S.C.; two sons, Jerry Stewart of Osceola, Ind.
and Albert Stewart of White Pigeon, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; and
three great-grandchildren. Also preceding her in death were a
son, Mike Stewart, and a brother, Albert DeBel.
Visitation will be today at the
Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka, from 2 to 4 and 6 to
8 p.m., with a wake service at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home. The
Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, Nov. 27, at 1 p.m. in St.
Bavo's Catholic Church, Mishawaka. Burial will follow in Chapel
Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
