Vera A. Sternal

January 18, 1911 – April 17, 2005

 

Vera A. Sternal, 94, formerly of 709 33rd Street, South Bend, passed away at 4:10pm Sunday, April 17, 2005, at George Davis Manor, West Lafayette IN.

 

Vera was born on January 18, 1911, in South Bend, to the late Nikola and Rosa (Muszer) Gulyas.  On July 12, 1930, in Sacred Heart Church, Notre Dame, she married Kurt O. Sternal, who preceded her in death on November 3, 2002.  She was also preceded in death by a son, Walter; and by two brothers, Mike and Nick.

 

She is survived by three sons, Thomas (Gerry), Fort Wayne IN; Ronald (Carol), Union City CA, and Michael (Kathy) of Lafayette IN; three grandchildren, Stacy, Sheryl and Kevin; and by several nieces and nephews.

 

She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, South Bend.

 

Mrs. Sternal has donated her body to the Indiana University Anatomical Education program.  A memorial service will be held at 11am April 22 at St. Anthony.
