OSCEOLA - Leslie A. Sterling, 93, died of natural causes
at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, in his home. He was born on
Dec. 14, 1914, in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, to the late Allen and
Frances (Cartwright) Sterling. He was preceded in death by
a stepson, Dennis Simons; a sister, Dorothy Bennett;
and by a brother, Raymond Sterling. He was a self-employed truck
driver, and was a member of the Elkhart Vintage Auto Club.
On Jan. 15, 1961, in Niles, he married
Katherine E. Peck, who survives. Also surviving are
stepsons, James H. Simons of Niles, Patrick J. (Susan) Simons of
Sedro Wooley, WA, Christopher (Marilyn) Simons of Osceola and
Michael Simons of Los Angeles; 10 grandchildren, 10
great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and
sisters, Gladys Johnson of Harshal, WI, and Ruth Slater
of Jonesville, WI.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today in the
Zimmerman-Inman Funeral Home, 1109 Lincoln Way West, Osceola,
with Rev. Sam Boys officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill
Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today in the
funeral home. Memorials may be made to Harbor Light Hospice, 4330
