SOUTH BEND - Belle Steinhilber, 92, of Altgeld Street, died at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's Medical Center. Mrs. Steinhilber retired in 1963 from Dutron Awning Co. She was born March 20, 1901, in Chicago, and lived in South Bend since 1923, coming from Chicago.
On Dec. 5, 1923 in South Bend, as Belle Snyder, she married John M. Steinhilber. He died Dec 25, 1977. She is survived by a daughter, Norma Jean Walker of South Bend; a son, Jack of Escondido, Calif.; four grandchildren; and a sister Lola Vergin of Valparasio. She was a member of Ridgedale Presbyterian Church.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the church. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood Drive. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
