KOONTZ LAKE — Mary T. Steinhart, 96, of Miller's Merry Manor, Walkerton, Ind., formerly of Koontz Lake, Ind., passed away at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, in Miller's Merry Manor. Mary was born April 8, 1905, in Blue Island, Ill., and came to Koontz L ake 38 years ago. She was the daughter of William and Theresa (Marx) Marshall.

On Nov. 11, 1922, in Blue Island, she was married to Erwin R. Steinhart, who preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 1979. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, two brothers; and by her great-grandson, Jared. She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Malatinka of Blue Island and Merle Bruesch of Koontz Lake; a sister, Ruth Wallskog of Grovertown, Ind.; a brother, George Marshall of Blue Island; five grandchildren, Barbara, Gayle, Joni-Rae, Rusty and Karen; four great-grandchildren, Jody, John, Kristen and Jamie; and by two great-great-grandsons, Jonathan and Joshua. She was a former employee of Sears and Roebuck in Chicago, Ill., and was a former member of the Walkerton Business and Professional Women's C lub and the VFW of Blue Island.

Public funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, in Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel, with Rev. Lloyd George officiating. A private graveside service will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday in the funeral home.
