SOUTH BEND - Priscilla J. Steif, 74, of South Bend, passed away
Thursday, April 1, 2010, in Sunset House, Mishawaka. Priscilla
was born October 12, 1935, in South Bend, a daughter of the late
Arvel and Deborah (Seals) Beaman. She grew up in Mishawaka and
was a 1953 graduate of Mishawaka High School. On June 12, 1954,
Priscilla married Fred W. Steif and they made South Bend their
home. Priscilla was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing and needle
work. She liked flowers and plants and was talented at growing
African Violets. Priscilla was a member of St. Pius X Catholic
Church in Granger. Priscilla's surviving family includes her
husband of over 55 years, Fred of South Bend; two daughters, Deb
(Paul) Bonin of Mishawaka and Cathy Greetis of Mishawaka; a
sister, Betty Claeys of Osceola; four grandchildren, Jennifer
(James) Luchowski, B.J. (Stephanie) Bonin, Kristen Greetis and
Casey Greetis; four great-grandchildren, Megan and Madison
Luchowski, Keely and Emerson Bonin. Mass of Christian Burial will
be celebrated Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Pius X Catholic
Church, 52553 Fir Road, Granger, with Monsignor William Schooler
officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday in the
church from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Private burial will take place at
Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Contributions in Priscilla's memory
may be made to The Center for Hospice & Palliative Care.
Envelopes will be available Tuesday in the church.
