SOUTH BEND - Brother George Joseph Stefanik, CSC, 69, of Dujarie House, Notre Dame, died Monday in his residence. Brother Stefanik was born Jan. 6, 1926, in Cleveland.

He entered the Brothers of Holy Cross on Aug. 15, 1948; made temporary profession on Aug. 16, 1949; and professed final vows on Aug. 16, 1952. He served on the staffs of schools in New York, Louisiana, Illinois and Wisconsin; and worked from 1957 to 1970 at Ave Maria Press, Notre Dame. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. J.L. McDonald of Westlake, Ohio.

Services will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Holy Cross Brothers Center, Notre Dame. Burial will be at 9 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Cemetery, Brothers Center. Friends may call from 3:30 p.m. until services Thursday in the Brothers Center. Hickey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
