SOUTH BEND - Ruth C. Steeneck, 77, of South Bend, passed away Monday, June 2, 2008, in Providence House in South Bend. She was born December 12, 1930, in Elbings Colonie, Germany, to Eitel and Anna Stascheit Lardong. On December 22, 1952, in Indianapolis, IN, she married Christian I. Steeneck, who died in 1995. Left to cherish her memory are her nieces, Marsha Owen of Flagstaff, AZ, and Karen Salmi of Townsend, MT; cousins, Waltraud Leinweber and Hidi Rauningg of Wien, Austria, Karin Davis of Indianapolis, IN, and Manfred Mueller, M.D., of Greenwood, IN.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 10th, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 17033 Cleveland Road, with Pastor Gregory Fiechtner of St. Paul's Lutheran Church officiating. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may call on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
