Henry Steenbeke, 92, of Fountainview Place, Mishawaka, Ind., died at 8:25 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 9, in the nursing facility. He was born on Sept. 14, 1906, in Lootenhulle, Belgium, and lived in this area since 1922. Mr. Steenbeke was a former employee of the former Oliver Corporation, and was a member of the B.K. Club.

On May 22, 1938, in South Bend, Ind., he married Caroline Gubi, who preceded him in death in 1996. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Oscar and Art.

He is survived by two daughters, Marilyn (Ronald K.) Harris and Diana (Klaus) Zink, both of South Bend; three grandchildren, Kristie L. (Rex) Miller, Tamara K. Harris and Kevin P. Zink, all of South Bend; one great-grandchild, Nicole M. Miller of South Bend; and by a sister, Mary Wille of South Bend.

Private services will be held on Saturday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
