SOUTH BEND - Caroline Steenbeke, 83, of North Brookfield Street, died at 11:48 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's Medical Center. Mrs. Steenbeke was born Jan. 1, 1913, in South Bend.

On May 22, 1937, in South Bend, as Caroline Gubi, she married Henry Steenbeke. He survives with two daughters, Marilyn M. Harris and Diana L. Zink, both of South Bend; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a sister, Elvira Nemeth of South Bend; and four brothers, Stephen Gubi of Edwardsburg, Arnold Gubi of Mishawaka, David Gubi of South Bend and Julius Gubi of Florida.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Funeral Home, where a rosary will be said at 4 p.m.
