Sara M. Steel, 78, of North 26th Street, South Bend, Ind., died on Saturday, Nov. 18, in the Cardinal Nursing Center, South Bend. She was born on Oct. 24, 1922, in Chippewa Falls, Wis., to the late Arthur and Gudrun (Mortenson) Rogers. Sara was a social worker for many years for the St. Joseph County Probate Courts. She is survived by her sister, Norma K. Rogers of South Bend; her brothers, Paul M. (Patricia) Rogers of South Bend, Dale A. Rogers of South Bend and James A. (Cori) Rogers of Sun Valley, Calif.; and by several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today, Nov. 21, in the FOREST G. HAY FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Rev. Jim Davidson will officiate. Family and friends may call in the funeral home prior to Sara's services. Contributions in memory of Sara M. Steel may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
