Esta A. Steele

Mishawaka - Mrs. Esta A. Steele, 89, of the Carlisle Nursing Home, South Bend, formerly of Mishawaka, died at 6:45 a.m. today in the nursing home, after an extended illness.

She was born May 27, 1884, in Cromwell, Ind., and came to Mishawaka from that city about 65 years ago. As Esta Green she was married to Clarence Steele in Albion, Ind., on Sept. 2, 1912. He died Jan. 1, 1957.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Geza Nagy of South Bend; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Another daughter, Mrs. Pauline Johnson, died July 8, 1973.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday in the Everett Ballard Funeral Home, where services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday. Rev. Ronald D. Harshman , pastor of the East United Methodist Church will officiate, and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
