Clarence Laird Steele

Mishawaka - Charles Laid Steele, 70, of 322 Ballard Ave., a Mishawaka barber for 50 years, died at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday in his residence. He suffered a heart attack shortly before his death.

 

Mr. Steele was born in Oswego, Ind., and came to Mishawaka at an early age.

 

He married Esta Green in Albion, Ind., Sept. 2, 1912.

 

He is survived by his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Willis Harold, of Dama, Fla., and Mrs Geza Nagy, of South Bend; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

 

Friends may call at the residence until 11 a.m. Saturday when the body will be taken to the Bent and Sprague Chapel.  Mr Steele was a member of the East Methodist Church.

Funeral services for Charles Laird Steele, 70, of 322 Ballard Ave., who died Tuesday, will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Bent and Sprague Chapel. Rev. Bryant J. Howard, pastor of the East Methodist Church, will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

 

Friends may call at the residence until 11 a.m. Saturday when the body will be taken to the Chapel. Pallbearers will be Frank Jehl, Walter Miller, Oscar Holdren and C.L. Daffron, of Mishawaka and Richard Putter and Herbert Robison of South Bend.
