SOUTH BEND - Marilyn Jeniene St. Clair, 78, of Topsfield
Road, South Bend, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007. She was born May
15, 1929, in South Bend, IN, to Kenneth and Marguerite (Kiley)
Bowker.
On August 11, 1950, in South Bend, she
married Robert H. St. Clair, who preceded her in death on April
26, 1992. She is survived by three sons, Jeffery K. (Kimberly)
St. Clair of Grovertown, Michael R. St. Clair of South Bend and
Timothy (Valery) St. Clair, also of South Bend; five
grandchildren, Kenneth St. Clair, Jeniene St. Clair, Andrea St.
Clair, born to Jeffery and Kimberly, and one great-grandchild,
Emalee, and Joseph St. Clair and Jessica (Robert) Monroe, born to
Timothy and Valery. Her brother, Dean (Kathy) Bowker, preceded
her in death. Marilyn was a devoted wife, mother and grandma. She
put her family first but found time to volunteer at the local
hospitals and her children's schools. She made the best cherry
pie in town from their family cherry tree and always made
Thanksgiving a special family time. Her sense of humor and
outspoken nature made her well-known; no one was a stranger to
her. She worked from time to time at various jobs to contribute
to her family and to keep busy at such places as the children's
schools, as precinct committeewoman, the BMV and Erskine Golf
Course where she brightened people's days, and in fun often gave
them a hard time or a joke or two. Marilyn loved to play golf and
to diligently find a great bargain that she often shared with
others. She was a devoted Cubs fan no matter the season's scores.
She loved a trip to Chicago for a Cubs' game, shopping, and as a
teen to enjoy the music of Nat King Cole. She loved Big Band
music, reading, her bridge club, and her numerous old friends
from the area. She is greatly missed!
There will be visitation on Saturday, Dec.
1st, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., and the service will immediately
follow at Welsheimer Funeral Home at 521 N William St, South
Bend, Indiana. She will be buried at a later date with her best
friend and husband of 42 years at Highland Cemetery of South
Bend. Memorials may be made to Camp Millhouse, 25600 Kelly Road,
