Peter Stayback: (South Bend Tribune 5/29/1932)   NEW CARLISLE MAN, 60 DEAD

New Carlisle, Ind., May 28. - Funeral Services for Peter Stayback, age 60, of New Carlisle, who died this morning at 11 o’clock after a 15 months’ illness, will be held Tuesday morning at 9 o’clock in St. John’s Cantius church, near Rolling Prairie. Rev. Joseph Vielinski will officiate. Burial will be in St. John’s cemetery. Mr. Stayback was born in Poland Feb 20, 1872. He had resided here 57 years. He was employed by the New York Central railroad. Surviving him are his widow, Polly, whom he married Nov. 1, 1897; three foster children, Mrs. Stella Faltynski and Martin Stayback, New Carlisle, and Philip Stayback, Michigan City; one sister, Mrs. Mary Broady, Michigan City, and two brothers, William and George, Rolling Prairie. Friends may view the body in the home. Mr. Stayback was a member of St. John’s church.
