MISHAWAKA - Glen E. Staples, 83, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed
away Wednesday, February 3, 2010, in the Saint Joseph Regional
Medical Center of Mishawaka. Glen was born June 23, 1926, in
Mount Hermon, Kentucky, to the late Noah E. and Verda S.
(Jackson) Staples. On March 10, 1951, Glen married the former Ms.
Carol Thomas in Plymouth, Indiana. Carol survives along with
their children, Kimberly Kay Staples, Cristi Lynn Staples, Andrea
Lea (Russ) Ether and Brett M. Staples. Also surviving are his
siblings, Ray (Mary Lou) Staples, Larry Staples, Jewel Bennett,
Kathleen Staples, Margaret Kronewitter, Carolyn (Gerald) Kozuch
and Delores (Ray) Bruning. Glen is also survived by nine
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in
death by his siblings, Clinton, Rondal and Eva Staples.
Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the 7:00 p.m. funeral
service on Friday, February 5, 2010, in the Chapel Hill Funeral
Home, Osceola, Indiana. Glen served his country during World War
II in the United States Marine Corps. He was employed by
Commercial Motor Freight for many years as a truck driver. In his
spare time, Glen enjoyed fishing, boating and playing golf. He
was a member of VFW Post #360 in Mishawaka and the Teamster's
Union, as well as the Michiana Community Church of God, Granger,
Indiana. In his memory, contributions may be made to HOPE
