Antoinette M. Stante, 88, of U.S. 31 South, South Bend, Ind., died at 12:25 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, at Saint Joseph Medical Center, after a brief illness.
Mrs. Stante was born on July 11, 1908, in Kalamazoo, Mich., and lived in South Bend since she was seven years old. On June 22, 1935, as the former Antoinette M. Cira, she married Ross R. Stante. He died on Sept. 9, 1984.
Mrs. Stante was a piano teacher in the South Bend area for seven years before retiring.
Surviving are two sons, James J. and Donald D., both of South Bend; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildran; a sister, Rose Andrews of Mishawaka, Ind.; and a brother, Joseph Cira of Roseland, Ind.
Mrs. Stante was a member of Saint Matthews Cathedral, A.A.R.P., Harvest House, the Altar Rosary Society, the Medjugorj Prayer Group, Padre Pio Prayer Group, Progressive Series Piano Course, and was a 1928 graduate of South Bend Central High School.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Hickey Funeral Home, 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd, South Bend, Ind., where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, in Saint Matthews Cathedral with the Most Rev. Bishop Joseph R. Crowley officiating. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
