She was born on June 4, 1933 in Peru, IN, to the late Robert and Juanita (Finicle) Zimmerman. Her adoptive mother, Marie Kleinkoff also preceded her in death. On June 12, 1951, in Middlebury, IN, she married her high school sweetheart, Richard L. Stanley Sr., who survives. Mrs. Stanley is also survived by two sons, Rick (Sue) Stanley of Lakeville, Chick (Tonya) Stanley of Lakeville; and two daughters, Maria Stanley (Majerek) of Mishawaka, and Sharon (Cindy) Stanley of Mishawaka; 11 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and two sisters, Betty Hendricks of Lakeville, IN, and Judy (Keith) Resler of Wabash, IN. Mrs. Stanley was a lifelong area resident and a pillar of the community. She worked as a dispatcher for the police department with her husband and was founder and past president of Union North Ambulance. She organized all the Bi-Centennial festivities for Lakeville, and also started the women's softball league. She was a St. Joe County 4-H Leader for twenty five years and a Cub Scout Leader for several years. She was the lead in her high school senior play. She received an Associate's Degree in Religion, which was a testament to her faith and love of God. She was a spiritual warrior with deep convictions. She touched many lives and will be missed.
