SOUTH BEND – Chester C. Stankiewicz, 91, of Johnson Street, died of natural causes at 4pm Wednesday in St Joseph’s Medical Center.  Mr. Stankiewicz retired in 1962 from Studebaker Corp.

He was born July 11, 1904, in South Bend.  On June 22, 1940, in South Bend, he married Pauline C. Yakim.  She survives with a sister, Louise E. Rush of South Bend; four adopted grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  He was an usher or 32 years for St Stanislaus Catholic Church.

Services will be at 10am Saturday in the church.  Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery.  Friends may call from 2 to 8pm Friday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a rosary will be said at 4pm.  Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association or the church.
