MISHAWAKA - Robert Lewis ''Yank'' Stanage,
62, of Columbia, Tenn., formerly of Mishawaka, died Wednesday in
Maury Regional Hospital, Columbia. Mr. Stanage retired from PSC
Fabricating in Columbia.
He was born March 6, 1933, in Mishawaka. He
married Doris L. Perry. She survives with two daughters,
Mona Lisa Parks of Taft and Lana Chaplin of
Fayetteville; three sons, Phillip G. of Petersburg, Tenn., Robert
Jr. of Cornersville and John of Taft; four stepdaughters, Kathy
Jean Church and Tammy Elizabeth Hendrix, both of
Columbia, Rebekah Anne Howell of Mount Pleasant, Tenn.,
and Merrijune ''Molly'' Dawson of Culleoka, Tenn.; a
stepson, Jimmy Turner of Columbia; 10 grandchildren; four
sisters, Marie Sandefur of Mishawaka, Ethel Hickman of
Prospect, Tenn., Phyllis Ordinger of South Bend and
Arvella Lancaster of Hartsville, Tenn.; and two brothers,
Kenny of Lakeville and Phillip G. of Frankewing, Tenn. He was an
Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Faith Free
Will Baptist Church, Columbia, and was past commander of the
American Legion Post 116 in Niles and American Legion Post 284 in
South Bend.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the
church. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. Oakes &
Nichols Funeral Home, Columbia, is handling arrangements.
