SOUTH BEND - Elizabeth "Bette" Stalker, 75, of South
Bend passed away peacefully April 23, 2010 at 4:51 a.m. with her
children by her side. She was born August 12, 1934, in South Bend
to the late Francis and Julia (Troutman) Weaver. On September 12,
1953 she married the lover of her Life, Billy L. Stalker who
preceded her in death April 9, 2007. She is survived by three
daughters, Julie Stalker, Lea (Larry) Pitcher, Diana (Marc)
Breden of South Bend and one son, Greg (Barb) Stalker of Three
Rivers, MI. The lights of her life grandchildren, Brad (Shannon)
Stalker, Janet (Abe) Carr, Amy Troutmiller, Aaron Troutmiller,
Katie Breden, Eli Breden and great-granddaughters, Alyssa Stalker
and Madison Carr. She is also survived by "daughter"
Collean Louks, her sister, Mary Hutchison, sister-in-law, Mary Jo
(Robert) Babcock and her very special friend, Pat Badur and
numerous nieces and nephews. Bette never knew a stranger. She
made many friends while working at Studebaker, Moose Lodge #58,
Ben Franklin, Ponderosa, Lucky Steer, and Richard's Restaurant.
She loved volunteering from Camp Millhouse, her church home
Northwest United Methodist Church, and the Soup Kitchen in
downtown South Bend. She belonged to the South Bend Alumni Lunch
Club. A celebration of Bette's life will be held at 11 a.m.
Monday April 26, 2010, in Northwest United Methodist Church,
21855 Brick Road, Pastor Vicki Van Nevel will officiate and
burial will be at Highland Cemetery. Friends may visit with the
family today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Welsheimer Family
Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road. Memorial contributions
may be made to Camp Millhouse or the donor's choice. E-Mail

broken And nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by
