William I Stafford

March 27, 1889 – May 16, 1965

William I. Stafford, 76, of 229 S. 35^th St., died early Sunday in the home of his son, James, of Osceola.  He had been ill for the last ten years.  Born on March 27, 1889, in Tyner IN, he came to South Bend 47 years ago from Plymouth.  He married Rosa Wagner, who died in 1952.

Surviving are three other sons, William Jr. of Osceola, David of South Bend and Robert of Melbourne FL; four daughters, Mrs. Minnie Scanlan of Hialeah FL, Mrs. Pansy Oswald of Mishawaka and Mrs. Zelda Vittorie and Mrs. Doris Ladyga, both of South Bend; 20 grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a brother, Glen, of South Bend.  Friends may call after 7pm today at the Hollis Funeral Home.
