Gertrude Stachurski: (South Bend Tribune 6/2/1961)

Mrs. Gertrude Stachurski, 39, of 1514 W. Parallel St., died at 5:45 a.m. today in St. Joseph’s Hospital after a long illness. She was born Oct. 22, 1921 in South Bend. In 1942 in South Bend she was married to Thomas Stachurski, who died in 1955. Surviving are her parents, Mrs. Constance Nowakowski and Frank Nowakowski; four sons, Ronald, Ralph, Danny and Albert; and a sister, Mrs. Lucille Vargo, all of South Bend. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Saturday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Rev. Sigmund A. Jankowski, C.S.C., pastor, will officiate, and burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. She was a member of St. Hedwige Society 850, Polish Roman Catholic Union of America and the Confraternity of the Holy Rosary Society of St. Stanislaus. Members of the society will recite the rosary at 8 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
