Mrs. Leo J. Stachowiak: (South Bend Tribune 3/29/1975)

Mrs. Helen H. Stachowiak, 68, of 717 W. Wayne died in her home Friday morning. Mrs. Stachowiak was a 20-year employe of St. Mary’s College. Born on Jan. 7, 1907, in South Bend, she had lived here all her life. On Feb. 15, 1926, as Helen Blasczyk, she married Leo J. Stachowiak, who survives. Also surviving are her mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Cencelewski of South Bend; a son, Gerald J. of Carson, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Frank Perri of Mishawaka; six grandchildren, and two brothers, Stanley Blasczyk of Lemon Grove, Calif., and Bernard Blasczyk of South Bend. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the St. Hedwig Catholic Church. Rev. Matthew J. Sienkiewicz, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be the St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Kaniewski and Sons Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday.
