GRANGER - Thomas E. Squibb Sr., 73, of Granger, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2008. Tom was born February 12, 1935, in Mishawaka, a son of the late Harry and Goldie (Petersen) Squibb. He graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1954 and, in 1957, from Worsham College of Mortuary Science, Chicago, Illinois. Tom was a life-long resident of Mishawaka and Granger. He was owner and operator of Cardinal and River Park Nursing Homes, Cardinal Manor and the Milton Home, retiring in 1993. He was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church, Mishawaka.

On August 29, 1959, in St. Monica Church, he married Marietta Ryan and she survives. Other surviving family members include five children, Christine (Jeffrey) Jackowiak of Granger, Mary Beth Squibb of Apopka, Florida, Thomas E. Squibb Jr., of Bloomington, Indiana, Kathleen O'Hara of South Bend, and Tony (Candace) Squibb of Edinburgh, Indiana; nine grandchildren, Rachel and Lee Jackowiak, Kiersten Woodward, Monica, Candace, Mykayla, Jason, Brittnee and Tyra Squibb; a sister, Audrey Squibb of Mishawaka; and a brother, Donald (Lawanda) Squibb Sr. of Mishawaka. Tom was preceded in death by three brothers, Pete, Theodore and William Squibb.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday, May 28, in St. Monica Catholic Church with Rev. Jeffery Largent and Rev. William Schooler officiating. Burial followed in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Memorials may be given to Marian High School or to St. Monica Church. Arrangements were by Thallemer, Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, Mishawaka.
