MISHAWAKA - Larry Springman, 62, of Ellenton, FL
and formerly of Mishawaka, surrounded by his loving children and
wife, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on November
20, after a heroic battle against aggressive lymphoma. Larry was
preceded in death by his parents, Sedrick and Eleanor Springman;
and his first wife, and mother of his children, Doris Springman.
On September 19, 1994, he married Kathy
Springman, and is survived by her, along with his children, Neal
(Nannette) Springman of Mishawaka, Shalon Springman of Mishawaka
and Avonne (Rob) Dainton of Osceola; a stepson, Richard Becerra
of Mishawaka; a sister, Sandy (Harold) Wolff of Ruskin,
FL; and four brothers, Jerry (Joyce) Springman of Arizona, James
Springman of Ellenton, FL, Dennis (Dawn) Springman of South Bend,
and Gary (Kim) Springman of Bronson, MI. Larry was the proud
grandfather of three grandsons, Anthony, Erik and Jordan Cenkush;
and two granddaughters: Erin Peck and Hannah Deerberg;
three beautiful great-granddaughters, McKenzie Peck, Rowan Peck,
and Karina Cenkush. Larry also had many aunts, uncles, cousins,
nieces, nephews, and close friends with whom he loved to spend
time.
Larry was born and raised in Mishawaka and
was a graduate of Penn High School. Larry was an avid NASCAR fan
and a collector of classic cars, including Studebaker and Avanti,
and Harley Davidson motorcycles. He enjoyed fishing and riding on
his "souped-up" golf cart, since no regular engine
would do. He loved his family and attending Springman Family
Reunions. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Larry
grew up in the Lutheran Church and, in August 2007, rededicated
his life to Jesus Christ. He made peace with God during the last
months of his illness and he died knowing he was going to a place
prepared in Heaven just for him.
Cremation has already taken place. A
memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 1, in
Vineyard Community Church, Mishawaka at 11 a.m. Pastor Mark Pope
will preside. Published in the South Bend Tribune on 11/24/2007.
