SOUTH BEND - Cedrick L. Springman, 79, of North 29th Street, died at 4:50 p.m. Monday in his home after an illness. Mr. Springman retired in 1975 from Bendix Corp. after 30 years of service in the heat treatment department. He was born Dec. 17, 1914, in Lakeville, and was a lifelong area resident.

On June 29, 1940, in South Bend, he married Eleanor Close. She survives, with two daughters, Sandra Wolff of Bremen and Carol Niles of Mishawaka; five sons, Larry and James, both of Mishawaka, Dennis of South Bend, Gerald of Ocean Springs, Miss., and Garry of Bronson, Mich.; 25 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Adaline Klarke of South Bend; and a brother, Howard of Union.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
