SOUTH BEND - Fred C. Sparks, 69, of Amberly Lane, died at 12:15 p.m. Saturday in his home of natural causes. Mr. Sparks retired in 1992 from Clyde-Williams & Associates after 10 years of service. He was born May 2, 1924, in Mishawaka.

On July 19, 1947, he married Helen B. Place. She survives with a daughter, Katherine E. Filipelli of Arlington Heights, Ill.; three sons, Russell F. of Cincinnati, Richard C. of Warsaw and John P. of Houston; and eight grand children. He was a member of Community Congregational Church, American Turners, and Fernwood Botanic Garden and Nature Center, Niles.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. Burial will be in City Cemetery, Mishawaka. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
