Nicholas V. Spagnolo, 64, of 909 S. 28th Street, died at 12:25 a.m. Sunday in Memorial Hospital. Mr. Spagnolo was born April 17, 1921 in Chicago, living in South Bend most of his life after coming from Chicago.
On April 20, 1944, in Moultrie, Ga., he married Raye Hamm, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Johnnie Sue Smith of Tampa, Fla., and Judy Raye Shoemake of Las Vegas, Nev.; five grandchildren; two sisters, Christine Marshman and Josephine Pruitt, both of South Bend; and a brother, Edward of Bradenton, Fla. A son Nicholas V. Jr., preceded him in death.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Hickey Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. He was a member of St. Anthony de Pauda Catholic Church and World War II Air Force veteran.
