SOUTH BEND - Mary E. Southwood, 76, of East Broadway Street, died Tuesday in her home.

Mrs. Southwood was born Jan. 24, 1919, in Monticello, Ky., and lived in South Bend for 45 years. As Mary E. Green, she married William E. Southwood Sr. He died April 2, 1945. She is survived by a daughter, Linda K. Temple of South Bend; a son, William E. Jr. of Jones; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a sister, Vela Vitatoe of Alpha, Ky.; and a brother, Ralph Green of Monticello. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the church
