Francis H. Sosnoski, 80, of the
Indiana Veterans Home in West Lafayette, Ind., formerly of South
Bend, Ind., died Sunday morning, Dec. 15, in the veterans home.
Francis was superintendent in the machine shop division of Sibley
Machine & Foundry, South Bend, for 40 years. Francis was born
Jan. 12, 1922, in South Bend, to Sylvester and Hildegard
(Archambault) Sosnoski, who preceded him in death. He was also
preceded in death by a brother, Frederick Sosnoski.
On Nov. 26, 1942, in South Bend, he married
Hazel B. Keener, who died Jan. 23, 1991. Francis was a
former Boy Scout member, a former member of Knights of Columbus
Council 553 and Little Flower Catholic Church, attended the
University of Notre Dame, and was a veteran of World War II,
serving in the Army Air Corps. He is survived by three daughters,
Sue M. Young of Edwardsburg, Mich., Nancy A. Williams
of South Bend and Ann M. Rhoton of Grand Rapids, Mich.;
two sons, Russell F. of South Bend and James W. of Indiana; seven
grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several
great-great-grandchildren; and by a sister, Rosemary Miller of
Kankakee, Ill.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at
9:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, in Littler Flower Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in
Granger, Ind. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the
HICKEY Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road, 289-1000. Memorials
