Harry Solomon, 83, of St. Paul's
Retirement Community in South Bend, died at 11:40 p.m., Thursday,
Oct. 31, at St. Paul's. He was born on April 16, 1913, in South
Bend, and had been an area resident for most of his life.
On March 7, 1937, in Indianapolis, he
married Dorothy Gavin. She survives, along with two
daughters, Phyllis DeVorkin of South Bend and Maxine Margolis
of Cleveland, Ohio; a son, Louis Solomon of Chattanooga, Tenn.;
four granddaughters; one great-grandson; a sister, Esther Kaswen
of South Bend; and a brother, David Solomon of Des Plaines, Ill.
Mr. Solomon had been a starter at Erskine Golf Course. He retired
from Goldblatts Department store, after many years of service. He
was a member of B'nai Brith, and, formerly, a member of Sinai
Synagogue.
Services will be at 1 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 3,
in the Chapel of Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery, with Rabbi Morley T.
Feinstein officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the

or to the Temple Beth-El, 305 W. Madison, South Bend, IN 46601.
