SOUTH BEND - Leona H. Sochocki, 91, passed away at 7:20 a.m. on
Friday, April 2, 2010, in Hospice House. Leona was born on Dec.
15, 1918, in South Bend, to Theodore and Eva (Kasprzak)
Szymanowski. On June 1, 1940, in South Bend, Leona married Frank
Sochocki, who passed away in 1995. She was also preceded in death
by her parents, and by a sister, Wanda Wozniak. Leona is survived
by her daughter, Suzette (James) Fanto of Nolanville, TX; sons,
Paul (Sue) Sochocki of North Liberty and Philip Sochocki of South
Bend; grandchildren, Paul (Eva) Sochocki of Fort Lauderdale, FL,
Michelle Sochocki of Pheonix, AZ, and Tisha Fanto of Augusta, GA;
and two great-grandchildren. Leona loved taking care of her
family. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. The
family would like to offer special thanks to the staff of
The Center for Hospice, South Bend. The ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME,
824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, is assisting the family with
arrangements. Private services will be held. Memorial
contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice and
Palliative Care, Inc., 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN
46637. For those who are unable to attend the funeral service,
