SOUTH BEND - Sophie A. Sobieralski, 84, of Fountainview Place, Mishawaka, formerly of 417 S. Bendix Drive, died at 3:45 p.m. Saturday in the nursing home. Mrs. Sobieralski retired in 1978 from Al's Anchor Inn as a cook after 28 years of service. She was born Dec. 7, 1909, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.

On Dec. 31, 1928, in South Bend, as Sophie Maciulski, she married Walter Sobieralski. He died May 29, 1988. She is survived by a daughter, Betty Sobieralski of South Bend; two sons, Gerald ``Sobie'' and Walter J. ``Sonny,'' both of Mishawaka; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Steven Maciulski of South Bend. She was a member of Harvest House and Rosary Sodality, both of St. Adalbert's Catholic Church and American Legion Post 357 Auxiliary.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Gardens of St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or American Heart Association.
