Mrs. Josephine Rejder
Sobczak.
Mrs. Josephine Rejder Sobczak, aged 85, died at 7:20 a. m. today in the home of
her daughter, Mrs. Cecelia Szulczyk, 420 South Jackson street, after several
weeks' illness. Born in Poland, April 20, 1853, she came to South Bend
from that country 65 years ago. Surviving are three sons, Stanley and
William Rejder and Joseph Sobczak; three daughters, Mrs. Catherine Paczesny,
Mrs. Szulczyk and Mrs. Irene Kajzer; 25 grandchildren and 10
great-grandchildren, all of South Bend. Friends will be received after 7
p. m. today in the home of her son, Joseph Sobczak, 1044 West Dunham
street. The funeral will be held at 9 a. m. Thursday in St. Hedwige's
Roman Catholic church with Rev. Francis X. Luzny, C. S. C., pastor,
officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove cemetery. Mrs. Sobczak
was a member of the Women's Apostleship of Prayer and the Women's Holy Rosary
sodality, both of St. Hedwige's church.
