Vera E. Snyder, 100, of South Bend, Ind., died on Friday, Aug. 29, in the Healthwin Care Facility.

She was born in Coldwater, Mich., on Nov. 25, 1902, to Samuel and Ella Larrabee.

On Nov. 25, 1920, in Coldwater, she married Hershel F. Snyder, who died in 1972. Vera's two sisters, Hazel and Mildred, and her brother, Winfield, also preceded her in death, along with her daughter, Elaine Hanna in 1958. She is survived by a daughter, Joyce (Bill) Foster of Chandler, Ind.; and a son, Hershel F. (Mary) Snyder of Adamsville, Mich. Vera has 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; a niece, Alice MacDonald of San Jacinto, Calif.; and a nephew, Wayne Larrabee of Aurora, Utah.

For over 20 years, Vera was a secretary for the Bendix Corporation, and for many years was an office receptionist for Dr. Turfler. She was a member of the Eastern Star, the Faith United Methodist Church, the Scatter Good Association of her church, and the Blood Pressure Group of Faith United Methodist Church.

Family and friends may call in the FOREST G. HAY Funeral Home on Wednesday, Sept., 3, from 10 a.m. to noon. Funeral services will be at noon Wednesday in the funeral home, with burial at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Contributions in memory of Vera E. Snyder may be made to the Healthwin Care Facility.
