SOUTH BEND - Raymond M. Snyder, 90, of Berkley Place, died at 6:40 a.m. Wednesday in the home of his daughter in Indianapolis after an illness. Mr. Snyder retired in 1971 from Bendix Aircraft Division as a sub-assembler. He was a former English professor at the University of Notre Dame and Kreamo Bakery employee. He was born March 25, 1904 in Cornell, Ill.
On July 27, 1931, at Notre Dame, he married Rosina R. Roessler. She died Feb. 8, 1979. On June 13, 1981, in South Bend, he married Elda Burdette Cole. She survives with a daughter, Ann Bargerhuff of Indianapolis; two sons, Ray E. of South Bend, and Larry G. of Fort Myers Beach, Fla., 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He received his master's degree from Notre Dame and was a member of Notre Dame Alumni Association.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Riverview Mausoleum. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in Welsheimer Funeral home, 521 N. William St., where the parish rosary will be said at 4 p.m. Friday.
