Paul Henry Snyder, born November 8, 1923, to Eugenia (Thomas) and Clarence Snyder in Vincennes, Ind., died at 5:38 a.m., Sunday, March 5, 2000, in St. Joseph Medical Center in South Bend. He was 76. He was graduated from Fort Wayne Central Catholic High School in 1941. He attended and graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington, in 1948, with a degree in business.
Mr. Snyder served in the U.S. Army Air Corps for three years during World War II. He was an engineer on a B-24, which flew missions over Japan, China, and the South Sea Islands. Paul worked for Uniroyal, Inc. for 38 years in various management positions in Mishawaka, Ind., and in Santa Ana, Calif. After retirement, he volunteered for 11 years with Legal Services in South Bend.
Mr. Snyder married Elizabeth Ann (Bee) DeLong on June 24, 1950, at Notre Dame Church in Chippewa Falls, Wis. He is survived by his widow and their five children, Paul Snyder of Georgetown, Colo., Susan Snyder Caron (James) of Arnold, Md., Patricia Snyder Diamand (Eugene) of Playa del Rey, Calif., Timothy Snyder (Robin) of Bolingbrook, Ill., and Mary Garnett (Paul) of Los Angeles, Calif.; his sister, Virginia (G.W.) Carter of Huntsville, Ala.; and by five grandchildren, Nathan Caron, Erin Snyder, Zachary Caron, Steven Snyder and Matthew Caron.
Visitation will be at HICKEY Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Rd., from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, with a rosary at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2000. Funeral services will be at Little Flower Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, March 8, 2000. Burial will be in Hope Catholic Cemetery in Chippewa Falls, Wis., at a later date.
