SOUTH BEND - Mary E. Snyder, 74, of 55986 Quince Road, died at 7:50 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Hospital after an illness. Mrs. Snyder was born Jan. 10, 1920, in Urbana, Ind., and lived in South Bend for 54 years, coming from Plymouth.

On June 27, 1942, in South Bend, she married John Snyder. He died Aug. 20, 1989. She is survived by a daughter, Sally Ann Smous of South Bend; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Helen Haupert of Wabash, Ind., Nyla South of South Whitley, Ind., and Adra Keel of San Jose, Calif.; and a brother, W.O. Stone of Concord, Calif. She was a member of Bowlers Country Club.

There will be no services or visitation. Cremation will take place. Welsheimer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to American Kidney Foundation or any charity.
