Marguerite A. Snyder

July 18, 1912 - Dec. 7, 1999

Marguerite A. Snyder, 86, of North Wenger Avenue, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness on Thursday, Jan. 7, in her residence.

Marguerite Muinch was born on July 18, 1912, in Mishawaka, as the daughter of the late Catherine (Gartner) and Albin Muinch. She had lived in the Michiana area most of her life. On May 24, 1941, as Marguerite Muinch, she married Joseph Snyder, who preceded her in death on Sept. 12, 1986. Mrs. Snyder was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra ''Sandy'' Takace in 1984, and by two brothers and a sister.

Mrs. Snyder is survived by a sister, Attela Dunfee of Mishawaka; a son-in-law, Mel Takace of Ludington, Mich.; two grandchildren, Mike Takace and Michelle Takace (Paul) Yutzy of Ludington; and by two great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Nathan Yutzy, also of Ludington.

Mrs. Snyder had worked for the St. Joseph County Court House. She was an administrator for Portage Manor in South Bend, working alongside her husband for sixteen years, retiring together in 1979. She was a member of St. Monica's Catholic Church in Mishawaka, as well as a lifetime member of the Mishawaka Democratic Club.

There will be no visitation, per Marguerite's wishes.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14, in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka, with Rev. William Sullivan officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Snyder's name to St. Monica Catholic Church, 222 W. Mishawaka Avenue, Mishawaka IN 46545.
