OSCEOLA - Elizabeth ''Betty'' Snyder, 89, formerly of 305 W. Superior Street, Osceola, Ind., passed away of natural causes at 1:15 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 12, at the Valley View Health Care Center, Elkhart, Ind. Mrs. Snyder retired from the Uniroyal Corporation in Mishawaka, Ind. She was born on July 25, 1909, in Derry Hale, W. Va., to the late Paul and Katalin Deak. She had been a resident of Osceola since 1915.

On June 29, 1929, in Mishawaka, Betty married Harold D. Snyder, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Grace Snyder, who passed away in 1945; and by a son, Robert H. Snyder, who passed away in 1936. She is survived by two sons, Wayne L. Snyder of Cape Canaveral, Fla., and David A. Snyder of Osceola; two grandchildren, Amy Snyder of Georgia and Todd Snyder of Florida; two sisters, Mary Cook and Leona Neely, both of Elkhart, Ind.; and by a brother, Johnnie Deak of Elkhart. Mrs. Snyder was a member of the church and the Women's Society of the church.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15, at the Palmer Funeral Home, 1109 Lincolnway West, Osceola. Rev. Brian L. Beeks, pastor of the Osceola United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial and gravesite services will follow in Osceola Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at the Palmer Funeral Home, Osceola.
