Orb Sylvester Smith.

     Orb Sylvester Smith, Rt. 1, Box 453, died at 5:30 a. m. today in Memorial Hospital after an illness of three months.  He was born in St. Joseph County April 14, 1883, and was married here on July 17, 1907 to Bertha Shaum, who survives.  Smith was a farmer.  Surviving are three daughters, Miss Florence Smith, of Logansport, and Mrs. Ethel Lawson and Mrs. Gertrude Prentkowski, both of South Bend, one grandchild, two brothers, Warren of Fruitport, Mich., and William, of South Bend; one sister, Mrs. Luella Berkheiser, of South Bend.  Friends may call after 7 p. m. today in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Sunday.  Rev. James Burroughs, pastor of Stull Memorial Methodist Church, will officiate and burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery.
