Katherine M. "Kat" Smith, 91, residing on Emerson Avenue, South Bend, Ind., formerly of 823 Clinton Street, passed away at 8:50 p.m. Sunday, June 16, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. She was born on Aug. 6, 1910, in Bend, Ill., to the late John A. and Minnie (Tarro) Ronchetti, and had resided in South Bend since 1928, coming from Nokomis, Ill.

On Jan. 24, 1930, in South Bend, she married Harry J. Smith, who preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 1970. She was also preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. Mrs. Smith is survived by her three sons and their wives, Robert B. and Raenelle Smith of Osceola, Ind., James H. and Sue Smith of Mishawaka, Ind., and Bruce A. and Sandy Smith of South Bend; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Smith loved and enjoyed her family greatly, and dedicated all of her time to them.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 20, in Palmer Funeral Homes, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend. Rev Byron Stamets, pastor of Christian Tabernacle, will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
