SOUTH BEND - In loving memory of Ida (Tinti) Smith, who was a dedicated and loving mother of four children.
Her husband Maurice preceded her in death in May 1973. After his passing, she took on maintaining the lawn and gardening in addition to her house chores.
Her days were not on an elaborate vacation but a visit to the local University Mall. Many clerks will miss her in L.S. Ayres and Sears. Many knew her by name. She was a woman of outstanding character who always had a friendly jest and compliment to all she came in contact. She was a helpful, caring mother, always trying to please her children with tokens of love prepared through her cooking skills.
She is survived by her children, Mary Muldoon of South Bend, Ind., Robert Smith of Elkhart, Ind., Clement Smith of Elkhart and Don Smith of Elkhart; and by 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
By her request, there will be no visitation. A private gravesite memorial will be held at a later date at Chapel Hill gravesite, Osceola, Ind.
Contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637-3437.
The Chapel Hill Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Editor: Her maiden name was Ida Tinti.
