MISHAWAKA - Grace Smith, 100, of Fountainview Place, formerly of Diamond Lake, died at 6:30 a.m. Saturday in the nursing center. Mrs. Smith was born Nov. 23, 1893, in Elkhart, and lived most of her life in this area.

On May 31, 1915, in Elkhart, as Grace Shelmadine, she married Arthur E. Smith. He died in May 1980. Surviving are a daughter, Lois Schoupe of Granger; two sons, Arthur E. of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Richard G. of Little River, S.C.; 11 grandchildren; and 24 great-greatchildren.

Private services will be held. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. There will be no visitation. Hickey Funeral Home, South Bend, is in charge of arrangements.
