OSCEOLA - Gladys Fern Smith, 90, of 11020 River Oaks Lane
E., died at 12:30 a.m. Sunday, January 6, 2008, at Elkhart
General Hospital. She was born August 8, 1917 to Charles A. and
Emma E. (Geyer) Loucks.
She married Russell W. Smith on November 8,
1941 in Mishawaka. He survives, along with one sister, Dorothy E.
(John J.) Gillaspy of Elkhart; one nephew, Robert Raymond
of Osceola; and one niece, Barbara Robinia of Atlanta, GA.
Two brothers preceded her in death.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later
date in the Faith Fellowship Church in Irons, Michigan. Cremation
will take place at Elkhart Cremation Services. Mrs. Smith
graduated in 1936 from Mishawaka High School. She was a member of
The Faith Fellowship Church in Irons, Michigan and a member of
the Roser Memorial Church in Anna Maria, Florida. She was a
volunteer for many years in the Chicago area for the American Red
Cross. Gladys enjoyed reading, cooking, and sewing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions
may be given to the Faith Fellowship Church, 8889 Six Mile Road,
Irons, MI 49644. Elkhart Cremation Services, 2100 W. Franklin
Street, Elkhart is assisting the family with arrangements.
