Ezra W. Smith
Ezra W. Smith, Rt. 3, Box 453, South Bend, retired farmer, died at 4:45
p.m. Monday in a nursing home at 1044 Lincoln Way West. He had been ill
three month. Born in Warren Township, St. Joseph County, Nov. 17, 1870,
Mr. Smith was a lifetime county resident. His wife, the former Miss Anna
Mae Sheddrick, whom he married in St. Joseph, Mich., died in 1920.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Robert Glaser; two sons, Edgar O. and Harold A.,
and five grandchildren, all of South Bend, and two sisters, Mrs. Etta Purucker,
of South Bend, and Mrs. Emma Ingleright, Slippery Rock, Pa. Friends may
call in the Orvis Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today until services there at 2
p.m. Thursday. Rev. Lawrence C. Reynolds of the South Side Church of God,
will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
